Poppylands café is a 1940s style tearoom situated just off Horsey Beach.
We visited after a day on the beach. This was a trip for me as I love anything retro and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were all suitably dressed in pin curls and 1940s style outfits. Memorabilia from the 1940s is crammed into every corner.
After a short wait, our cakes arrived beautifully presented on a vintage cake stand. They were delicious and even our picky eater youngest child cleared her plate. I thought that this was reasonably priced.
There is a little gift shop upstairs, which has a lovely selection of retro sweets. My kids had never eaten a sugar mouse before and got a bit annoyed when I refused to share my quarter of sherbet pips.
This was a really lovely experience and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
