Suffolk Blonde – Sainsburys 1.5/5

Suffolk Blonde is part of Sainsburys taste the difference range. It’s brewed by St Peters Brewery in Suffolk hence the name. This is advertised as a traditional ale and brewed with Hallertau hops.

The ale is golden once poured you get a strong taste of cloves with a whiff of bananas whilst drinking. Head is thin and dissipates quickly.

I’m slightly biased after recently enjoying the delights of traditional Dublin ales and beers. Suffolk Blonde is just off the mark. It’s a nice ale but one that does not offer anything that makes me want to go out and buy more. I have nothing against cloves. I would like them to be a little less pushy in the flavour scale.
