Shipyard American IPA is dark gold highly carbonated ale that gives a large off white head.
The taste is quite bitter with a hint of cloves and sourness. This is a little sharp and unbalanced. I have noticed this on IPAs that try to offer maximum alcohol volume but at the cost of a balanced flavour.
I think there are much better IPAs on the market that have more to offer.
Personally I’d rather a smoother drink with less alcohol and am unlikely to buy this again.
