Lets face it Wychwood Brewery has been making great beers for some time. I need not mention Hobgoblin Ruby.
Hobgoblin Gold ale is no different and does not let you down.
The look of this light coloured light headed beer remind me of time spent in Spain and Greece. But this is where any comparison with european ales ends. The taste is well rounded. Not to sweet and not to bitter but full of flavour.
This is one of those ales that you cannot fault. It’s nice to drink and one bottle is not enough. It leaves you wishing that there was a over attentive barmaid with another ready to serve.
Oddly enough unlike most breweries whay like to write spiel all over there bottles this is marketed on the name Hobgoblin alone. There is little on the bottle to tell you about the drink beyond text stating is guild edged. Don’t pass this one by. Buy at least a few and give them a go.
